Mary-Jane
Mary-Jane founded Kingsmeadows Nursery in 2000 having noticed a gap in the market as a Mum of two young children. Mary-Jane has completed her SVQ3, PDA Level 8 and Post-Graduate Diploma in Childhood Practice. She has also graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and has recently completed Doctoral training as a Chartered Psychologist.
Mary-Jane enjoys travelling and the outdoors and in the last few years has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, trekked the Inca Trail and rafted through the Grand Canyon.
Rebecca
Setting Manager
Rebecca joined the team in 2007 with an NVQ but has since gone on to achieve her SVQ3, PDA Level 8 and a BA in Childhood Practice.In addition to her role as Setting Manager Rebecca also leads the Under 2's which is her favourite age group!
Rebecca enjoys the daily challenges her role brings, no day is ever the same but she wouldn't have it any other way.
Dawn
Lead Practitioner
Dawn has been with Kingsmeadows Nursery since 2006, she acheived her SVQ3 before joining the team but has now gone on to complete her SVQ4. Dawn enjoys the challenges of working with the 2-3 years age group and has found her qualifications to be extremely helpful in ensuring best practice and continuous improvement.
Dawn enjoys keeping fit and going out with friends and family.
Janey
Depute Manager
Janey is the Depute Manager and also Lead Practitioner in the Rainbow Room (3-5 years) and has been part of the team for 12 years, achieving both SVQ3 and PDA Level 8 qualifications during her time with Kingsmeadows Nursery.
Janey enjoys reading, crosswords and walking, especially her annual walking holiday in Spain with friends.
Nicola
Lead Practitioner
Nicola first joined the team whilst still at High School and helped with the After School Club where her ambition and interest in chilcare grew. Nicola has now achieved her SVQ3 and PDA Level 8 and is Lead Practitioner for the Out of School and Holiday Club.
Nicola volunteers as a Brownie leader in her spare time and is also a member of the local Pipe Band.
Fiona
Practitioner
Fiona has been with Kingsmeadows Meadows Nursery for over 16 years and gained
her SNNEB from Borders College in 1992. Fiona enjoys working with children who require extra support and has completed training to expand her knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In her spare time Fiona enjoys the outdoors and walking her dogs.
Lisa D
Practitioner
Lisa has been part of the team for 4 years and has succesfully gained her SVQ3. Lisa spends the majority of her time in the Rainbow Room (3-5 years) but also spends time with the After School Club. She loves working with children as they have a wonderful view of the world and a great way of experiencing themselves.
In her spare time Lisa enjoys playing netball, reading and walking her dogs.
Emma
Practitioner
Emma has been part of the team since 2015 and has successfully completed her SVQ3. Previous to joining Kingsmeadows Nursery Emma completed a Diploma in Primary Education. She enjoys working with all age groups but spends most of her time with the 2 year olds in the Sunshine Room.
Emma is a member of the local choir which she loves and is also a Brownie leader. She enjoys the outdoors, especially when taking the Brownies on various trips.
